Elyse Hart is a writer and musician residing in Venice, California. She is an alumnus of Beyond Baroque’s legendary Wednesday Night Poetry Workshop—the longest running poetry workshop on the West Coast since 1968. Her work has been featured or is forthcoming in Slipstream, Maudlin House, The Nervous Breakdown, Ghost City Review, Okay Donkey, The Los Angeles Press, and others. Her first chapbook “White Noise Crucible” is forthcoming from Dancing Girl Press this summer.

In 2020, she set five poems by the female 16th-century Hindu mystic poet, Mirabai, to music. The piece won the top prize in the “She Can, We Can” music composition competition at the University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG). The piece enjoyed two live performances at UNCG and UNCSA.
