Open Call for Submissions

James Evert Jones, Eileen Carole, and I are in the process of starting a new online poetry and arts journal, and we are looking for artists and poets to submit to the inaugural issue of Coal Literary Journal!

Our mission at Coal Literary Journal is to serve as a catalyst for muted voices. Our main intent is to publish the works of the underrepresented. Our purpose is to spark social change through the power of literary and graphic art.

Qualifications for submission:

Poetry and prose of any length must be written on a .doc or .docx file in 12 pt. Times New Roman font.
Please submit your work with “LitSub” and the title of your work(s) in the subject line.
Submit a short bio.
Please submit three (3) poems
Please do not submit previously published works
Graphic art must be attached to your email as a .jpeg or .png file. Please submit your work with “Art Sub” and the title of your work(s) in the subject line. (no submissions sent through Google Docs, Dropbox, or any related link will be considered)
Submission deadline is November 1, 2022.
